Many first time visitors to Windermere book accomodation in Windermere village, and are sometimes surprised to find that the can’t actually see the lake as it’s a 20 minute walk away at Bowness on Windermere, and the return leg is all uphill. No such problems at the Hydro which is just a short walk away for the centre of Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere.

The comfortable bar overlooks the lake and has a wide range of beers, wines and spirits all priced competitively. The Hydro also has a large number of public rooms that make it an ideal conference and wedding venue.
Free Internet access is available in all public areas and some bedrooms.
Things to Do
Walking – The southern fells of the lake district are just a short distance away and if you want to try something less strenuous then golf can be booked at Windermere Golf Club (tee times subject to availability) or why not try a cruise on the Hotels 36 foot yacht on Windermere in the company of the resident skipper. The Hydro organise a number of Murder Mystery weekends every year – further details on the website.

All the above prices are person per night, on a bed and breakfast basis. All of the above are double occupancy rooms, some rooms are available for single occupancy at a £25 supplement.
Notes
Family rooms are available. Children under the age of 6 stay free (when sharing their parents accommodation), with inclusive meals. Children under 12 stay free, but without inclusive meals. Over 12’s but sharing adults rooms, stay for half twin price i.e. £37.50 if in standard room. Any child staying in own room on it’s own pays adult prices. The above rates are £GBP and included full English breakfast, V.A.T and Service.

The Hydro is a well known Lkae District Conference and Seminar venue and is able to accommodate from 6 to 200 delegates at its conference facilities. Our staff have the flexibility to react quickly and positively to any last minute change of programme or alteration to schedule.
