Storrs Gate House is a lovely 19th Century detached Lake District Country House bed and breakfast, nestling in its own secluded, spacious gardens, opposite Lake Windermere.

A leisurely, picturesque 15-minute stroll will take you along the lakeshore into Bowness Bay and village.

Being only half a mile from Bowness-on-Windermere, our location is convenient for all the amenities, yet out of the hustle and bustle of the busy resort.

There is complimentary, private parking within our grounds.

Our location is ideal for walking, cycling, sailing or simply exploring the Lakeland villages, tracing the footsteps of William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and enjoying spectacular scenery.

Storrs Gate House offers a total of 6 rooms throughout our traditional Lake District bed & breakfast.

Each centrally heated room offers ensuite facilities with power showers, hospitality trays, satellite TV with DVD player, reasonably priced minibar and comfy chairs.

Free  wireless internet access is provided.

Please note:
We do not have single or family rooms and we regret that we cannot place extra beds in any room.
Children over 14 years can be accommodated in a separate room at the  standard rate.

Our modern bathrooms include complimentary toiletries from The White Company with fluffy bath sheets and hand and face towels.

Storrs Gate House has a large residents lounge, although televisions are restricted to bedrooms only.

Order a bottle of wine from our reasonably priced wine list and relax with a book or browse through local literature, photographs and our compilation of walks in the comfort of our cosy lounge.

Breakfast
Local and home-made produce are a feature of our traditional and varied breakfast menu.

Free-range eggs from a Windermere farm, hand-made Cumberland sausage and bacon are supplied by an award winning local butcher.

Enjoy our  home-made produce which include jam, marmalade, yoghurt and apricot compote and home-baked fruit muffins.

Vegetarian and gluten free options are also catered for with pleasure.
